Baker Steel Detailing was awarded the work of creating cladding drawings for the waterproof doors at Manhattan’s South Ferry Terminal.

These new doors feature inflatable seals, which will keep water out of the subway during a hurricane.  The doors and adjacent surfaces will be clad in an embossed stainless steel.

Joe Fernandes, GM of Shepard Steel‘s miscellaneous metals division is leading the coordination efforts.

Parsons Brinckerhoff is the general contractor.
